Hello! My name is Abigail. I'm a first-year student at Tulane University and I am an actress and vocalist. I am currently a member of the ensemble in Tulane's production of "Urinetown: the Musical" and recently played Elle Woods in my high school production of "Legally Blonde."

Artist Statement
I became interested in musical theatre at a very young age. My interest started when I was seven years old and living in England and I auditioned for Seussical the Musical at my school because a friend of mine was auditioning, and I’d always loved singing. I didn’t get a part and she did, which fueled my competitive nature and I ended up auditioning for the next musical two years later, which was Annie jr. I ended up getting a large role and falling in love with performing.
From then on, I did everything I could to participate in musical theatre or singing. I auditioned for and was accepted into the choir at my school. When I moved to the U.S. two years later, I immediately joined the a capella group at my new school. I have done four musicals since then. Part of the reason I love performing is because I feel like it is the best way to be myself, despite the fact that I am usually acting like a different person. I feel like performing gives me the authority to be as bold as I want to be, which is a very freeing and exhilarating feeling. I also love having all my family and friends in one room who are there solely to support me. It is really uplifting and encouraging to know that I can do something that is so important to me and have everyone who I care about be there to see it. For me, musical theatre encourages a sense of community and that is something I adore and want to be apart of for as long as I can.
